UKSOL 410w & 435w optimised innovation solar modules for ECO4 funded projects

UKSOL Ofgem approved innovation measure solar PV module

UKSOL had developed a special optimised Innovation Measure solar PV module which incorporates anti-shading technology, online monitoring and additional safety features to deliver higher performance, can be deployed as a heating measure to improve the EPC rating of homes which contain an eligible form of electric heating system*, or where such a heating system is installed alongside. ECO4 funding can used to fund the measure, which includes in social housing homes with an EPC of D or below. As an approved Innovation Measure, installers can claim between 25-50% extra ECO funding (please contact us for more details).

optimisation by tigo

Optimizing UKSOL solar panels with Tigo TS4-A-O optimizers offers several significant benefits for solar energy systems. These optimizers enhance the efficiency, flexibility, and overall performance of the solar installation.

optimisation by tigo

Firstly, the Tigo TS4-A-O optimizers enable module-level Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT), ensuring that each solar panel operates at its highest power output regardless of shading or differing panel characteristics. This leads to increased energy production and better overall system efficiency, maximizing the electricity generation potential of the entire solar array.

Secondly, by managing each panel individually, the optimizers mitigate the impact of shading, dirt, or other obstructions, which can significantly hamper the output of traditional string inverter systems. This improves the overall reliability and resilience of the solar system, reducing maintenance costs and enhancing long-term performance.

Furthermore, the Tigo optimizers provide real-time monitoring and diagnostics at the panel level. This granular insight allows for rapid identification and resolution of any issues, improving the system's uptime and minimizing downtime. It also facilitates remote troubleshooting, reducing the need for on-site visits.

In addition, the optimizers increase design flexibility, enabling panels to be installed in various orientations and configurations without compromising system performance. This is particularly useful for irregular roof layouts or locations with partial shading.

Ultimately, the combination of UKSOL solar panels and Tigo TS4-A-O optimizers empowers solar system owners to extract more energy from their installations, achieve a higher return on investment, and contribute to a greener future through increased renewable energy production and decreased carbon emissions.

Additionally, UKSOL half-cell modules demonstrate improved performance in hot and humid conditions, as the reduced cell size reduces the chances of cell temperature rise. This characteristic ensures consistent power output and enhances the overall durability of the system.

Improved Safety

The Tigo TS4-A-O optimizers offer several safety features that enhance the overall safety of solar energy systems. These features contribute to safer installation, maintenance, and operation of the solar panels:

Tigo online panel monitoring

Online panel monitoring

1. Module-Level Shutdown: In case of emergencies or maintenance requirements, the optimizers allow for individual module-level shutdown. This means that power production from each panel can be halted independently, reducing the risk of electrical shock or fire when working on the system.

2. Arc Fault Detection: The optimizers can detect and mitigate arc faults, which are a potential fire hazard in photovoltaic systems. By rapidly identifying and isolating faulty modules, the risk of fire due to electrical faults is significantly reduced.

3. Rapid Shutdown Compliance: Tigo optimizers facilitate compliance with rapid shutdown requirements imposed by electrical codes and regulations. When needed, the system can be quickly deactivated to a safe voltage level, ensuring the safety of emergency responders and maintenance personnel.

4. SafeDC™: Tigo's SafeDC™ technology reduces the voltage at the module level, making the DC wiring safer for installers and maintenance staff. This lowers the risk of electrical shock when handling the system's components.

5. Remote Monitoring and Troubleshooting: The optimizers provide real-time remote monitoring and diagnostics, enabling system owners and installers to identify issues without needing to physically interact with the panels. This minimizes the need for onsite visits and reduces potential safety hazards associated with physical inspections.

6. Overvoltage Protection: The optimizers have overvoltage protection mechanisms that prevent the panels from exceeding safe voltage levels. This helps prevent damage to the equipment and reduces the risk of electrical hazards.

7. Durability and Weather Resistance: The optimizers are designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions, ensuring their continued operation even in challenging weather. This reliability contributes to the overall safety of the system by reducing the likelihood of failures.

8. Compliance with Standards: Tigo optimizers adhere to industry safety standards and regulations, ensuring that they meet established safety criteria for photovoltaic systems.

A UKSOL Solar installation
