In a groundbreaking initiative to promote sustainable energy solutions, UKSOL Ltd has partnered with Warm Front Ltd to provide high-quality solar photovoltaic (PV) installations on local authority properties in the UK.
This collaboration is a significant step forward in reducing carbon emissions, enhancing energy efficiency, and alleviating the financial burdens faced by vulnerable residents.
The collaboration between UKSOL Ltd and Warm Front Ltd brings together two companies deeply committed to sustainability and community well-being.
By supplying high-performance solar panels, UKSOL plays a crucial role in delivering efficient and reliable energy solutions that are built to last.
Warm Front Ltd's approach to this partnership was holistic and community-focused. A dedicated scheme manager, retrofit assessors, and coordinators were assigned to ensure the project's smooth execution.
Weekly review meetings with the client helped keep the project on schedule, while a liaison officer was appointed to engage with local residents, particularly those who were vulnerable or anxious about the new installations.
This proactive approach allowed for meaningful communication with tenants, helping them understand the benefits of solar PV and addressing concerns about rising energy costs. By fostering a transparent and supportive environment, Warm Front Ltd ensured that residents were comfortable and informed throughout the process.
The collaboration with Warm Front Ltd includes work with The Guinness Partnership, one of England's largest providers of affordable housing. Founded in 1890, The Guinness Partnership manages over 70,000 properties and supports more than 180,000 people across the country. Warm Front Ltd has had a longstanding relationship with The Guinness Partnership, consistently delivering energy-saving measures to meet government standards for decent homes and energy performance certifications (EPC).
The current project involves the installation of UKSOL 435W solar PV panels on sheltered housing bungalows in Wrenbury, Cheshire. Funded by the UK Government's Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) Wave 2.1 and ECO4 innovation funds, the initiative aims to generate approximately 3kW of electricity per property. This will not only help reduce the running costs of electric heating for the residents but also lower the carbon footprint of The Guinness Partnership, enhancing the overall EPC rating of the properties.
Over the past three years, the total contract value for these initiatives amounts to £3.85 million, comprising funds from the Optimised Retrofit Programme (ORP), ECO4, and Denbighshire Council.
In addition to solar PV installations, Warm Front Ltd has been contracted to carry out loft insulation and cavity wall extraction, removing old, damaged insulation materials and refilling them with modern, energy-efficient alternatives.
The partnership between UKSOL Ltd and Warm Front Ltd is a shining example of how collaboration between innovative companies can drive positive change. By combining UKSOL’s cutting-edge solar technology with Warm Front Ltd’s expertise in energy-saving installations and community engagement, this partnership is paving the way for a more sustainable future for local communities.
The joint efforts of these companies are helping to alleviate energy costs, reduce carbon emissions, and improve the quality of life for residents in some of the UK's most vulnerable communities. It is partnerships like these that will lead the charge in the transition to a cleaner, greener future.
